I’m a Swedish jewellery maker, now living in The Netherlands. I make jewellery as a side activity alongside my work, and combine digital days in the office with more occasional (but oh, so precious!) spare moments behind my workbench at home.

When I first started this blog, I wanted to use it to showcase jewellery that I make. A few months into the project, I realised that it will be about more than that. I also want to share thoughts around jewellery in general, what it is that inspires me and what I’m working on.

Jewellery has so many meanings, on so many levels. Was there ever a time in history or a place on earth where people did not care about jewellery? No. Whether it has been for beauty, status, power, to confirm human relationships or simply for trade, jewellery has always been part of human culture, and always will be.

Why “galeriaredelius”? I have had this name in my head for more than ten years. It is like a tweak of my own name, with a Spanish spelled “gallery” in it. Just felt right.

Another idea that I had when I started the blog was to mix languages. Again, pretty soon I realised that it would become messy. I have decided to post mainly in English, a tiny bit of Swedish might slip in. I was blessed with a brain designed for languages and have had the chance to learn a few, so please, if you want to get in touch, feel free to write either in Scandinavian (Swedish-Danish-Norwegian) or in English, German, Spanish, French or Dutch. I love to cross language borders and look forward to getting in touch with jewellery lovers/makers from across the world.
